Blue Man Group was formed in 1988 and is a group of three men who appear to have blue skin and no voice, hair or ears. It was founded by Phil Stanton, Chris Wink and Matt Goldman. Their shows combine music, comedy and multimedia theatrics to produce a totally unique form of entertainment. The Blue Man Group communicates through intense eye contact and simple gestures. He is impulsive and checks in with the other two before making an action. They have their own hand gesture called the "Blue Man Salute." It is made by raising both arms in the air. They use various strings, drums, airpoles, pipes and tubes to make their music.

The Blue Man Group has made a variety of TV appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. They have also been on Arrested Development, The Drew Carey Show, Scrubs, Dr. Phil and Comedy Central, to name a few. The group has also played music in a few movies.
