The Story Behind A Steady Rain

A Steady Rain is a play by Keith Huff that focuses on two Chicago policemen who inadvertently give a Vietnamese boy back to a cannibalistic serial killer who says that he is the boy's uncle. After the boy becomes the man's victim, the two policeman's friendship begins to be torn apart when they realize someone must bear the responsibility for their failure to access the situation. The story is shown in two separate monologues that have competing perspectives the past events, but it occasionally merges into present-moment dialogue scenes. It plays out as a good-cop, bad-cop with alcoholism and racism issues.

A Steady Rain stars Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman. It is a brainchild of Chicago Dramatists (a stable of hot playwrights responsible for numerous well-crafted productions).
